Paisley with a twist, the subtle hand painted details of garden tracery and the plantings of an English country garden, where inspiration is drawn from the ancient textile motif.
This is a pattern that expresses all our deepest hopes of rejuvenation for nature. The Paisley we have come to know was originally inspired by the Persian boteh or buta, a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end, which might also as easily be a bowing cyprus tree. As David's Psalm 56 records that prayers are like tears caught in a bottle. It falls into view when we think of our tears for nature's welfare, and our bowing in prayer and hope for its thriving.
